900-student device program, rebuilt over one January
Client: Independent K–12 school, north-west Sydney · Services: School IT Support, Intune, Microsoft 365
The problem. A 1:1 student laptop program managed by hand: every device imaged individually, no enforced web filtering off-campus, and a January rush that regularly ran into week two of term one. Teacher confidence in ICT was at a low point.
What we did. Over the summer holidays we stood up Microsoft Intune with Windows Autopilot, migrated 900 student and 120 staff devices into management, enforced eSafety-aligned filtering that follows devices home, and introduced a teacher help desk with a dedicated morning priority window before class.
The outcome. Day one of term one, every device was enrolled, filtered and classroom-ready. New devices now go from box to student-ready without a technician touching them, and the leadership team receives a one-page safeguarding and fleet report each term.
HEALTHCARE24/7 SOC monitoring for a multi-site clinic group
Client: Allied-health group, 5 sites, ~80 staff, NSW · Services: SOC Monitoring, Cybersecurity Consulting
The problem. Patient data obligations under the Privacy Act, a cyber-insurance renewal demanding EDR and 24/7 monitoring, and no internal security capability at all. A phishing near-miss had rattled the directors.
What we did. Deployed managed EDR across all endpoints via Intune, connected Microsoft 365 and identity logs to our SOC, ran a four-week tuning period, and delivered an Essential Eight uplift for the highest-risk gaps — MFA everywhere, immutable backups and application hardening.
The outcome. The insurer's requirements were met in full and the policy renewed. In the first quarter the SOC contained a compromised-credential attempt at 11:40pm on a Saturday — the account was disabled within nine minutes and the incident report was on the practice manager's desk Monday morning.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICESZero-downtime Microsoft 365 migration for an accounting firm
Client: Accounting practice, 35 staff, Sydney CBD · Services: Microsoft 365 Migration, Managed IT, Backup & DR
The problem. An ageing on-premises Exchange server out of support during their busiest season, mailboxes at capacity, and no appetite for downtime — the firm bills in six-minute increments.
What we did. Staged a full pre-sync of mail and file data to Microsoft 365, hardened the tenant to our security baseline, and cut over on a Friday evening with a rollback plan on standby. Third-party Microsoft 365 backup and a tested DR plan followed in week two.
The outcome. Staff left Friday on the old system and logged into the new one Monday — every folder, rule and shared mailbox intact. Measured downtime: zero business minutes. The firm moved onto a managed agreement and retired the server room air-conditioner for good.
